Blueprint Blitz
A downloadable game
Blueprint Blitz is a two-minute card game that is split into two phases. The game was created by 3 people, Emily Waugh, Joseph Bretz and Morgan Lehmkuhl. The objective of the game is to have the most attack or defense points at the end of the game to defeat your opponent.
What You Need:
Decks
A - Stars
B - Circles
C - Crafting
Coins
Spinners for each player
A - Three sections
B - Four sections
How to Play
Set Up
Split Decks A and B in half, and place them on both ends of the playing area so that all players can access them. These are your components decks.
Divide Deck C into 6 piles of 5 cards each, shapes side up. These are the crafting decks.
Provide each player with Spinners A and B, as well as 4 coins.
Phase 1 (1 minute and 30 seconds)
Set a timer for 1 minute and 30 seconds. This is how long you have for phase 1.
Players will spin their spinners to determine which deck they can draw from. The possible outcomes are:
Spinner A - Free to spin
A - Draw 1 card from Deck A
B - Draw 1 card from Deck B
Coin Stack - Draw 1 Coin
Spinner B - Costs 1 coin to use
AA - Draw 2 cards from Deck A
AB - Draw 1 card from Deck A, and 1 card from Deck B
BB - Draw 2 cards from Deck B
Ø - Nothing happens.
If players have component cards that match the components shown on one of the five shown crafting cards, they may take the crafting card and discard the used components.
Intermediary Phase
At the end of Phase 1, before starting Phase 2, players will count up their total number of crafting cards. The two players with the highest total amount will move on to Phase 2.
In the event of a tie, players will then compare the amount of component cards they have.
In the event that the tie is still maintained, all tied players will compete in Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who is moving on.
Phase 2 (30 seconds)
Players will use all crafting cards they gathered in Phase 1 to build their combat stats. There are two stats, Attack and Defense.
Attack is based on Stars.
Cards with 1 Star have 1 Attack.
Cards with 2 Stars that are different colors have 2 Attack.
Cards with 2 Stars of the same color have 3 Attack.
Defense is based on Circles.
Cards with 1 Circle have 1 Defense.
Cards with 2 Circles that are different colors have 2 Defense.
Cards with 2 Circles of the same color have 3 Defense.
Cards that have both a Star and a Circle can have either 1 Attack or Defense, but not both. Players must choose how they will be used.
Building Stats
When combining cards, if 2 cards have the same component type (ex: Blue Circle), players may combine the cards together to gain a +1 stat bonus for each card added. In the example below, the player has combined the double Blue Circle card (Defense +3) with the Blue Circle/Green Circle card (Defense +2) to gain an additional +1 Defense.
Players may only stack one component type. It’s up to you to decide which component will work best for your plan!
Finishing the Game
Players will duel at the end of Phase 2.
If the Attack stat is greater than the Defense stat, the attacker wins.
If the Defense stat is greater than the Attack stat, the attack is negated.
If both players win their Attack, whoever had the greater difference in Attack wins.
Ex: Player 1 has 5 Attack and 3 Defense. Player 2 has 4 Attack and 1 Defense. Player 1 has an attacking value of +4, while Player 2 only has +1. Player 1 wins.
If both players win their Defense, whoever had the better defense wins.
Ex: Player 1 has 3 Attack and 5 Defense. Player 2 has 1 Attack and 4 Defense. Player 1 has defending value of +4, while Player 2 only has +1. Player 1 wins.
